It is quite simple. The cold, the wind, the sun, added up together, cause an unwanted effect on your skin.

The cold makes your skin glands to work a lot less, especially those on your face, and therefore your skin becomes dryer than in any other season of the year.

The wind and the sun, together, take off what is left of the moisture in your skin, making tiny wrinkles all over your face, and before you know it, all the radiance and beauty of your face are gone.

But making the right choices when it comes to skincare during wintertime can prevent all of this from happening. It will help you preserve the freshness and attractiveness of your complexion.

The first thing to do is to get rid of the soap. Stop using it. It only makes your skin dryer. Instead, use a lotion, body milk or your favorite tonic to clean your face. Occasional peeling would also do you good.

Washing your face only with hot water will benefit your skin with a little extra moisture in the morning or before going to bed.

A hot bath will open up the pores all over your body, otherwise closed because of the cold, and that way you will be able to clean all the dead skin cells that are lying in there and make your skin look old.

If you have the time, every now and then, you should use it to apply a facial mask or a facial massage. A homemade cucumber mask will hydrate your skin and it will make it a lot softer.

A facial massage or a whole body one, will help you moisturize your skin and will ease up all the tension that you might be feeling. Try using coconut or olive oil for it. Do this routine 15 minutes before you take your hot bath and you will have a glowing, soft skin.

Don’t forget to put on a smile when you are going out. A fresh complexion and a smile will make you look very appealing. Match your make up with your skin tone. Choosing the right colors for your outfit will help you pass the winter looking like it is spring time for you.
Life is Give & Take so behttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10379122301792022143noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4069479815055067072.post-61447855306054852742009-11-03T04:08:00.000-08:002009-11-03T04:09:41.595-08:00Beauty & Skin Care Recipes

The main ingredients and their benefits of different beauty recipes are given below.

Aloe gel: remedy for burns.

Avocado: good source of vitamin E and natural oils, natural moisturizer.

Coconut Milk: for smooth skin.

Cucumber: for dark circles under eyes and wrinkles, under-eye puffiness.

Egg: skin conditioner, egg white for normal and oily skin, yolks for dry skin

Fenugreek seeds (dana methi): for skin scrub, if taken internally purifies blood.

Honey: for wrinkles, skin pores and lose skin, a natural astringent, natural moisturizer.

Milk: for skin nourishment.

Nuts: used in scrubs for wrinkles, skin pores and blackheads.

Oatmeal: for smooth skin, improves complexion

Olive oil: good for dry skin.

Oranges, Lemons, Pineapple: natural astringents, improves complexion, soften the skin, skin bleach.

Tomato: opening the skin pores.

Vinegar: for blemishes, itchy skin, and sunburn, softens skin

Yogurt: softens and hydrates the skin, skin cleanser, skin bleach.

Witch Hazel: body eodorant, for eye puffiness.

Life is Give & Take so behttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10379122301792022143noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4069479815055067072.post-74939310802589155422008-10-08T11:02:00.000-07:002008-10-08T11:06:00.749-07:00Some Herbal and Natural Skin TreatmentsSome Herbal and Natural Skin Treatments

1) Apply aloe vera juice on the affected area twice a day, as it helps buff up the skin.
2) Take some raw (unboiled) milk and add some nutmeg into it to form a paste. Brides should be especially wary of products with ingredients that can aggravate the skin, like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which can clog pores and irritate acne. For a list of irritants to look out for,
Sunscreen is an important part of any bride's daily routine.
Mineral-based make-ups can be a great alternative for women with acne prone skin.
Changes in seasons and hormones can alter the appearance of your skin. However, do not take your skin for granted. You need to care for your skin to ensure that it doesn't fall prey to the heat, humidity and dust. Here are some face packs to help refresh and rejuvenate your skin:

1. An apple a dayBlend half an apple into a puree, add two teaspoons of honey and squeeze in a capsule of vitamin E. Mix well and apply for 10-15 minutes.

2. Carrot-honey scrub Wash and peel a medium-sized carrot and blend in a mixer along with two teaspoons of honey. Add a teaspoon of coarse rava (semolina) and a few drops of lavender essential oil (optional), and apply immediately. Scrub off with circular movements of your palms after about 15 minutes. This works as a skin conditioner while exfoliating your skin.

3. Orange-yogurt mask Whisk three tablespoons of full cream yogurt with three teaspoons of orange juice. The lactic acid in the yogurt helps peel off dead skin cells and is a whitening agent. The orange juice acts as a skin toner, tightening up open pore.

4. Pumpkin-egg yolk nourisher Take a two-inch cube of ripe orange pumpkin and puree it. Add an egg yolk and blend well. You can add a few drops of rose or sandalwood essence to disguise the odour of the egg. Egg yolk contains vital nutrients that nourish the skin and pumpkin is a rich source of vitamin A.

5. Grandma's sandal pack The age-old recipe for beautiful skin -- sandalwood paste -- does indeed work wonders. Crush a small piece of sandalwood (available at shops selling pooja supplies) till you get half a teaspoon of brown paste. Mix this with besan (gram flour) or Multani mitti (Fuller's earth) and a few drops of milk to make a thick paste. Apply over face and neck and leave for 15 minutes.

Use this pack at least twice a week for best results
.Even with normal skin, there may be seasonal fluctuations. For instance, your skin might feel a slightly drier in winter or a stickier in summer, so vary your face pack accordingly by adding an extra ingredient or two. You can add milk cream or olive oil in the winter to your routine pack to increase its moisturising capacity. Conversely, a few drops of lemon juice in the summer take care of any excess oiliness.

Life is Give & Take so behttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10379122301792022143noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4069479815055067072.post-21129647185071587232008-01-04T09:32:00.000-08:002008-01-04T09:34:35.344-08:00Acne Care Through Natural HerbsAcne Skin Care through Natural Herbs

Acne is an inflammatory skin disease that can occur in any age but mostly in the period of puberty.
